Lahat ng Pangarap Natunaw: Eheads Fans Cope with Humor After Seeing High Concert Ticket Prices

When iconic OPM rock band Eraserheads announced last month that they were having a reunion concert, everyone had plans to go. Many Pinoys were ecstatic, tagging their friends on social media saying “Kita kits!” Fast forward to October, when ticket prices were announced, that excitement was slapped with the ticket prices. Here’s what Pinoy Eheads fans have to say.

Eraserheads Ang Huling El Bimbo ticket prices

The reunion concert will be held on December 22 at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Paranaque City. Fans have the option to purchase tickets from six tiers: Moshpit (P17,260), VIP (P14,810), Platinum (P12,180), Gold (P9,740), Silver (P5,480), and Bronze (P3,050). That doesn’t include the SM Tickets P100 booking fee for those getting their tickets online.

Pinoys are astounded at the ticket prices, especially after some folks recalled Eraserheads’ last reunion concert in 2009, “Eraserheads LIVE! The Final Set.” It was held at Bonifacio Open Field in Taguig with the following ticket prices: VIP (5,000), Gold, (P3,000), Silver (P1,300), and Bronze (P300).

But that was 13 years ago. Prices have gone up since then. Did we really expect Bronze tickets will remain P300? Not in this economy!

After seeing the ticket prices, Pinoys went online to do what they do best: Cope with despair through humor.

Some Pinoys think the price is just right

Eraserheads is an icon worth paying good money for. Just think about how the classics — LigayaPare Ko, and Ang Huling El Bimbo — are songs that carried us through the years!

Another person on Twitter attempted to compute how much money the concert might generate, knowing that the Eraserheads reunion concert will only sell 50,000 tickets. “They are historic, iconic and legendary kumbaga nothing to prove. Deserve ng OPM acts makatanggap ng ganyang value,” said the netizen.

While some blame their wallets

It’s not you, Eheads, it’s us.

Wallet: *dying*

Despite the reactions, Pinoys are still buying

But while some Pinoys are going through the stages of grief, others are quietly snapping up those tickets since they went on sale earlier, October 5, at 10 AM. The SM Tickets website had a wait time of around 10 minutes and a queue of 4,000+ when we tried buying ours. For a time, the VIP section was “unavailable” which we took to mean “sold out.” The Moshpit also went “unavailable” two hours after ticketing started.

As of writing, both Moshpit (P17,260) and VIP (P14,810) sections are no longer available on the website. Either the website is glitching or Pinoys really sold out the most expensive ticket options.

This just goes to show that everyone’s excited about the Eraserheads reunion whether they’re #TeamConcert or #TeamBahay. Although this reunion has had its fair share of controversies, it’s safe to say thousands of Eheads Pinoy fans will still turn up to support the pillars of OPM themselves come December 22.
