LOL: Creative Remakes and Hilarious Reactions to That Manila Baywalk Dolomite Beach Arch

The P389-M dolomite beach project in Manila Bay has a new update. Over the weekend, a huge arch was added bearing the beach’s official name — Manila Baywalk Dolomite Beach. Check it out:

The initial reveal drew flak from netizens online for not having the proper spacing between words. So in true Pinoy fashion and humor, netizens and artists took it upon themselves to recreate it. Here are some of the funniest reactions and remakes of that ‘MANILABAYWALKDOLOMITEBEACH’ arch.

Kaya pa ba?

PAGODNAKOTUESDAYPALANG!

Song lyrics

Say it in one breath.

The better #OneBreathChallenge

Bet you can’t do it in one go.

It looks like a promo code

The sign was just asking for it and Angkas delivered.

A sign that spits facts

WALANATAYOPERAPEROATLEASTMAYDOLOMITEBEACH.

Is it a hashtag?

Or maybe it’s a website. https://ift.tt/3kML5tO sounds fine.

If signs were honest

Where is the lie?

Good news: The sign was fixed. Bad news: It now looks like an All Saints Day-timed project.

After the slew of negative comments, proper spacing was added to the arch so it now reads as “Manila Baywalk Dolomite Beach.” So much for the #OneBreathChallenge. Additionally, a white fence was put up to help control the number of visitors once the beach opens to the public.

The white sand a.k.a. dolomite beach project in Manila Bay has been a controversial affair since Day 1. For starters, the entire Manila Bay rehabilitation project comes with a hefty P389-M price tag intended to “improve the bay’s water quality and the coastline’s appearance.” However, last year, the beach suffered an onslaught of typhoons that left it cluttered with garbage and nearly void of the crushed dolomite. Despite everything, it looks like the project is still in full swing.
